Out picking up a few household needs, Zac Efron was spotted shopping at Costco in Los Angeles, California on Saturday evening (January 3).
Always gracious to his adoring fans, the “High School Musical” hunk took a moment to chat with/pose for pictures alongside a young female supporter while finishing up the day’s errands.
Meanwhile, Zac’s “Hairspray” co-star Nikki Blonsky recently revealed to press that he would definitely be up for a sequel to the hit musical flick.
Blonsky told press, “Zac has said he’d love to do it again, and I know Brittany Snow is down for sure. I don’t know about Amanda. I hope she will. I want to put on my Tracy Turnblad wig again and dance my little heart out.”
Sorry for the lack of updates. My mum passed away last week and my family and I are not coping well. I will update as as when I can, but I am sure you understand this is a hard time for me and my family.

A sequel to the 2007 musical Hairspray -- based on the Broadway musical, which was based on John Waters' 1988 original -- is in the works, according to director Adam Shankman and composer Marc Shaiman.
According to MTV, John Waters has written an outline that is "proudly pushing the enveloppe."
“I don’t know how mainstream it would go if he really stuck to his ideas; it would be a real John Waters-style film,” Shaiman explained.
As for the plot, he said: “People hate Tracy (Nikki Blonsky) because she doesn’t lose weight. They ask ‘Now that you’re famous, why won’t you lose weight?’. And Link (Efron) experiments with drugs. Throughout half the movie, he has an ongoing dialogue with three pimples on his forehead.”
“Edna (John Travolta) loses weight, but sees her husband (Christopher Walken) lusting after fat women,” Shaiman laughed, citing one of the musical numbers he’s particularly eager to write. “And so, she finally breaks down and runs over to a snack table. Just within one number, she gets fat again; gaining 20 pounds at a time. [Her fat] pops out, and by the end of the song she’s completely at her old weight again."
Described by Ok! Magazine as a “bromance,” screen heartthrobs Leonardo DiCaprio and Zac Efron, though separated by a 13 year age gap, seem to be Hollywood’s latest platonic, same-sex power couple.
Photographed together at Los Angeles’ Staples Center last week taking in a Laker’s game, just last month 21 year-old Efron told EW of his hopes to one day befriend the likes of Leo and Johnny Depp.
“I would love to just sit down and talk with Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp,” Efron told EW, “and pick their brains about their early careers. They do it because they love it, not because they enjoy being famous.”
He added, “You have to have good foresight and be really careful. If you don’t adapt and learn at a very young age, you can really mess up.”
Soon after making the comments, Efron was the subject of a report by Fox News in which DiCaprio was quoted as being eager to pass along his status as “sex symbol” to the new comer.
“I look at young Zac Efron and think ‘Go get it pal, leave me in peace,’” DiCaprio was quoted. “I was never happy with the teen idol tag at all –-never wanted to be a sex symbol or all that stuff –-it was the work that appealed to me. Really nothing else.”
The quote was later said to be “completely fabricated” by Fox and later removed from its website.

The pair finally “hooked up” earlier this month during a GQ Magazine event at Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont Hotel. According to Ok!, Leo thanked Efron for coming to the party before giving him his cell number and telling him, “Give me a call and let's shoot the s**t sometime."
“High School Musical 3’s” Zac Efron has no qualms about sharing his teen heartthrob spotlight with “Twilight’s” Robert Pattinson.
“I’m stoked for him,” Zac told Access Hollywood’s Tony Potts at Tuesday night’s GQ Men of the Year Awards of the Brit whose star is very much on a mega-rise.
Zac, 21, is even supportive of the 22-year-old actor. He told Tony he plans on taking in a showing of the Pattinson-fronted vampire drama when it hits movie screens this weekend.
“I’m gonna be there,” Zac said. “I’ll be watching ‘Twilight’ in theaters – probably opening night.”
And though he has only seen snippets of “Twilight” thus far, Zac thinks he will enjoy the movie, co-starring Kristen Stewart, tremendously.
Zac Efron nearly signed up to sing for Simon Cowell - except the teen heartthrob did not take him seriously.
American Idol judge Cowell was desperate to sign up High School Musical star Zac for a record contract because of his singing voice, boyish good looks and huge fan following.
Zac explains, "Simon Cowell is a great guy. We were backstage at American Idol and he just came up and we talked about an idea - it wasn't like 'Hey, sign here. So needless to say I did not do it. I'm not sure it was serious."
High School Musical’s Zac Efron may have left his Sydney fans gasping when he was spotted sunbathing with his co-actor girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens in the Harbour city.
The 20-year-old, who arrived in the city ahead of the Disney franchise’s premiere, was reportedly seen flexing his muscles while his love interest and ‘High School Musical 3′ co-star Ashley Tisdale clenched hands during a short water taxi ride back to their hotel.
Dubbed as “the new American heart throb” by the Rolling Stone magazine, Efron is said to have insisted on categorising himself as a ’serious actor’ despite his young appeal.
The actor-singer also scored brownie points when he impressed fans with his voice in the film version of the Broadway musical ‘Hairspray’, reports the Daily Telegraph.
